Illinois American Water is expected to complete its proposed acquisition of Prairie Path Water Company this year. Along with this merger comes a proposed rate increase. Every homeowner should have received a letter from Illinois American Water with more information on the rate increase.
We will discuss this more as an HOA board to see what additional actions can be taken, but in the meantime, I encourage every homeowner to file a public comment opposing the rate increase here: https://www.icc.illinois.gov/docket/P2025-0545/public-comments
